108 into 18.

I just spent the past 2 hours pleating down the skirt of my gown. one panel is 54" and I had to pleat it down to 9.

I did it, and it's going to look awesome.

This is to give you an idea of how wide the fabric is...it's as big as my table in my flat.

This is what I pleated that down to. 9 inches exactly.

Here is a close up shot of my pleating. It's not exact, I prefer to eye it, but I was checking my pleating along the way, it's roughly 1/4 folded over a little more than 1/2 inch probably about 5/8ths of an inch.

I still have one more side to go, and then it's attaching it to the bodice. After that, I'll do a quick basting along the hem, and work on the sleeves, and from there I will leave the gown alone until I can get to my mannequin at home in America, to make sure that I can get the right hem. It's going to have a hell of a train. The skirt is 108 x 60. I'm only 5'4" and really short legged. So, the train is going to be impressive.
