The Overcast Stitch

is very very helpful when you're stupid and buy crappy poly/satin that frays miserably.

I knew there was always a reason why I bought real silk. This would never happen.

  1. the overcast stitch, oh yes, the best thing for people-who-don't-have-sergers. I use it on any seams that will take stress, particularly bends in sleeves. It's just so handy!

  2. Well, that's true but there are also super-fine poly fabrics that perfectly resemble the silk... the bad news is that they're almost the same price :S
